Tuen Ng Festival at the Sun Life Stanley International DB Championships.

The beach was packed with over 6,000 paddlers from 261 teams and countless spectators making for snug conditions anywhere you turned. Exciting to be part of one of the biggest, if not the very biggest, dragon boat festivals in the world.

Mixed team had two qualifying heats. In our first, we finished 1st out of 12 teams. In our 2nd heat, the compaction was tough with the likes of Stormies, Sea Gods (Red) and DCH… we battled hard and ended up 4th out of 12 teams, this result placed us in the PREMIUM SILVER CUP FINALS, the last race of the day!

The competition was fierce… against RHKYC (Red), Los Chiles, Spanish Dragons and DBS… we held our own throughout the race, as it was neck and neck the entire 270m. The race was too close to call at the line so we celebrated while we waited for results to be posted. We are so proud to say that we placed 5th (4th runner-up), with the margin between 1st and 5th place being separated by 0.37 one-hundredths of a second!!! Darn, that was CLOSE!

Overall 17th out of 196 mixed teams.
